30 Second Photographs, 2020/2022. Digital Video.

This series explores the spaces on the edges— what we see each day but do not look at.

The chosen medium gives the composition a set amount of time, creating a moment to pause and look at the visual presented: A 30 Second Photograph.

The titles play a significant role in the piece. Not only do they indicate what is happening in the scene, they can also describe an archetype which can vary from each viewer.

As the series developed over time, the titles moved from the literal explanation of the subject matter to found text. The interplay between the found text (also discovered in the commonplace) and the digital image creates a shift in context which brings an added layer of tone to the series.
